HOUSTON TRAVEL GUIDE | OUT Traveler's Get Back OUT There with Will and James

As your LGBTQ travel guides, we’ll explore the best gay friendly travel destinations. The fifth stop as we “Get Back OUT There” is the multicultural city of Houston, Texas! It’s a bustling city full of art, science, food and culture all with a unique Texas flare, providing a little bit of something for every type of traveler. Join us as we “Get Back OUT there” and #travel to #Houston, #Texas.

There’s no better way of exploring a new city than by asking the locals what there is to do and what they recommend. We asked everyone we met with in Houston what their top recommendations were for visitors. Find out what they have to say and maybe you’ll experience them on your next trip!

Located in the heart of East Downtown, referred to as “EaDo,” is an inviting LGBTQ+ owned and family run bakery, called Koffeteria, that “celebrates the flavors of Houston.” Their menu is filled with creative, delicious and seasonal pastries that will be sure to satisfy any foodie. If you’re looking for the perfect place to gather with your travel companions or to reunite with old friends over coffee and a delicious pastry, we recommend visiting Koffeteria on your next trip to Houston! https://www.koffeteria.com/

Houston’s Museum District is home to over 150 museums with focuses spanning from nature, art, science, history and more. It’s a beautiful district of Houston that we really enjoyed walking around. We paid a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts and quickly lost track of time as we explored the wide variety of exhibitions and installations it had to offer. It also has a history of supporting the LGBTQ+ community of Houston as it hosts Houston’s Annual International LGBTQ Film Festival, Q-Fest. https://www.q-fest.com/

What is OUT Traveler’s Get Back OUT There with Will and James?
Over the summer we partnered with OUT Traveler and traveled to 8 US cities to learn more about how local LGBTQIA+ businesses, restaurants, inclusive hotels, and community leaders are welcoming back travelers! We are thrilled to share this project with all of you and we hope it inspires you to GET BACK OUT THERE when you are ready! #travel #LGBTtravel

Hi! We’re Will and James! After meeting in 2014, we knew it was love at first sight. Our very first trip together was to New York City where we learned very quickly, that if we travel together we can do anything. Our love has continued to grow and so has our sense of adventure leading us to places all over the world. We document our travels to share with you, hoping to inspire you to grab someone you love and travel the world. Recently, we competed on the 32nd season of The Amazing Race where we not only won the grand prize but got engaged at the finish line, the first gay/LGBT proposal in the show’s 20-year history. Join us on all of our adventures!
